What JobSweep keeps about you, who else handles it, and how to have it removed. Last changed 22 October 2026.

Who I am

JobSweep is run by me, Benjamin Iannotta, from the UK. I decide what JobSweep keeps and why, and I can read everything it keeps, to run it and put faults right. To reach me, use Write to me on the Help page, or write to JobSweep, 4 St Jacobs Close, Stanground, Peterborough PE2 8XN.

What I keep, and for how long

I keep these only to give you the service you signed up for: your searches, your lists and your daily email.

Your email addressTo send your sign-in links and your daily email, with when your account was made and when you last changed the address.
Until you delete your account.
Your searchesUp to 5: the name you give each one, the job title words, words it must have or leave out, the place, and the settings you pick (distance, contract or permanent, lowest pay, date posted, remote), whether its daily email is on, and when you made or changed it.
Until you delete that search or your account.
The lists each search foundEach site's own list and JobSweep's list, as they were read, so you can open and download them.
Until you delete that search or your account.
Your saved jobsThe jobs you press Save on, as the list showed them.
Until you remove them or delete your account.
Your daily emailsEach email, kept on the Daily email page, with whether it was sent and the address it went to.
Until you delete that search or your account.
Which jobs I have emailed youEach job's title and employer, so no job reaches you twice.
Until you delete your account.
Your sign-in emailsEach email with its sign-in link, and each email to change your address. A link works once, for 30 minutes. When you change your address, the emails to your old one stay with your account.
Until you delete your account. One to an address with no account that never made one, or one to change your address that was never used: removed after about a day.
Messages you send meFrom Write to me on the Help page: your email address, your message, when you sent it and whether you were signed in. Each is also emailed to me, so I can reply.
Until you delete your account. One sent without an account, and the copy emailed to me: until you ask me to delete it.
Your sign-inOne cookie, jobsweep_signin, keeps you signed in for 30 days. It is the only cookie JobSweep sets. I keep a scrambled copy of it that cannot be turned back into the cookie.
The cookie: 30 days, or until you sign out.
Your planWhen your free week started and ends, whether you cancelled, each payment (its date, amount and Stripe's payment number) and each refund.
When you delete your account, I keep these payment records and the emails about them, with your email address, for as long as HMRC asks me to keep records of my sales: at least 5 years after the 31 January deadline for each tax year.
Stripe's code for your cardStripe's code for your card, which tells me whether a card has had a free week. It is not your card number.
I also keep your email address and Stripe's code for your card in my list of free weeks given, so the same email or card does not get a second one.
Your stop linkA secret in each daily email's stop links, so they work without signing in.
Until you delete your account.

JobSweep never asks for your name, phone number, CV or a password. There is no advertising and no tracking.

Who else handles it

ResendSends every JobSweep email. It receives your email address and the words of each email, and the messages you send me. Resend is a US company and handles emails in the United States, under the UK's approved contract terms for sending data abroad. Its plans keep each email's record for 30 days.
Your email address, each email.
Stripe and its Onelink serviceSell JobSweep for me, take your payments and refunds, and work out the VAT. They receive your email address and the card details and address you type on Stripe's page, and keep their own records under their own privacy notices.
Your email address, your card details, your address.
HetznerRents me the server in Germany that holds everything on this page.
Everything listed above.
BackblazeKeeps a locked copy of everything listed above, made every night, so JobSweep can be put back if the server is lost. Each copy is locked before it leaves the server, and Backblaze cannot open it. Backblaze is a US company and keeps the copies in the United States, under the UK-US data bridge. Each copy is removed about a month after it was made.
Everything listed above, locked.
The eight job sites, Decodo and WebshareThe words, place and settings of your search go to Indeed, LinkedIn, Jooble, Reed, Totaljobs, CV-Library, Jobserve and CWJobs, some of them through Decodo and Webshare, two services that pass JobSweep's requests to those sites from UK addresses.
Your search and its settings. Never your email address.
CloudflareHolds the web address jobsweep.co.uk.
Nothing about you.

The website's pages and typefaces come from JobSweep's own server. I do not sell or share your details with anyone else.

Deleting your account

Account, then Delete my account, removes your searches, lists, saved jobs, daily emails, the record of jobs emailed to you, your sign-in emails, the messages you sent me from the Help page and your account. If one of your searches is being read just then, it asks you to try again in a few minutes. Your plan ends first, and nothing more is taken. These things stay:

  • The job sites' answers to searches, which JobSweep keeps so the same search is not paid for twice. They hold the words and place searched, not your name or email address. Each is removed about 3 hours after it was read.
  • The server's own log of what ran each day. It holds the names and words of searches and a number for each account, not your internet address. Old lines drop off as the log fills.
  • Your payment records and the free weeks given, as What I keep says.
  • The nightly locked copies at Backblaze, made so JobSweep can be put back if the server is lost. Each is removed about a month after it was made.

Resend's record of emails it sent you ends after its 30 days.

Your rights

You can have a copy of what I keep about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how I use it. On the Account page, Download everything gives you one zip file of everything JobSweep keeps under your account (it holds your plan, your payments and your refunds), and Change email address changes the address you sign in with. For anything else, write to me from the Help page or at the address above. If you are unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
